Room 20 Classroom Notes April 8-13

Hi All, We are all very excited about camp this week! We will certainly have much to share after we get home Wednesday afternoon. Thanks to everyone for helping prepare your child for this great adventure! I wanted to let you know that state testing will begin the week we get back along with two walking field trips to Reed College. Science testing begins on the 16th of April. This test usually takes one to two sessions. Reading will take place the following week on Thursday the 25th of April. My stance on testing is that it is one test on a given day. It is one assessment out of many the students take. Relax. Get some rest the night before. Eat a good breakfast. Do your personal best. Calling all chaperones!!! We will be taking a walking field trip to Reed College's Cooley Art Gallery to witness a very interesting collection of drawings from the Civil War. Our wonderful friend Gregory will guide us, per usual. We will go back to Reed on the 24th (the next week) to go on a science tour viewing and interacting with many science-based activities and topics. I really do not want to give too much away. Both of these experiences need at least four chaperones each. Can you please come? Let me know ASAP.
